Our featured speaker, Kassia Nye of the North Coast Land Conservancy, shared an inspiring overview of the organization’s impact as it approaches its 40th
anniversary. Since its founding, more than 13,000 acres have been placed into protected status along the North Coast. With a small but mighty team and strong
volunteer base, the Conservancy continues to preserve and steward this special region. Kassia also highlighted opportunities to visit, volunteer, and stay connected
through their programs and publications.
We also heard an update on the upcoming Clubless Classic from Dawn Fujiwara Pavlik and Ashley Flukinger. This fun, mini putt-putt style event invites teams of
four to play creative “holes” hosted by local businesses – no golf clubs required. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 1-5pm, followed by an after-
party at the American Legion. With strong sponsorship support already secured, volunteers are still needed to help with registration, scoring and more. Please reach
out to Ashley or Dawn if you want to participate.
