Last week we welcomed Pat Lehman and Beth Van Elswyk from the Clatsop Community College Foundation for an engaging and inspiring presentation. Beth, the
Foundation’s Director and Pat, a longtime volunteer and board member, shared details about ACT – Access College Today, a newly revised program that replaces the
former WINGS conference. Relaunched with a new, more inclusive focus, ACT is a one-day seminar designed to help non-traditional students explore pathways to
college through information on GED programs, certificates, degrees, financial aid, and more. The results from last year were remarkable: of the 25 participants, 24
enrolled at CCC, with the remaining student individual moving away, making it one of the most successful programs at the college. Pat noted that out of the 24
enrolled, 15 received scholarships from the foundation. With 45 participants registered this year for the February 5 immersive experience, ACT continues to strengthen
CCC’s role as an economic driver in our community. Rotary’s past support of WINGS helped lay the foundation for this success, and it was wonderful to see that legacy
continue through ACT.

Upcoming
Just a quick reminder that there is no Rotary meeting this week. We’ll be back together
next week on the 22nd, when we welcome Rosemary Reynolds, a local author who has
written a powerful book on mental health in the court system. Her presentation will
continue our January theme of Health and Wellness. Enjoy the week ahead, and we look
forward to seeing you all back soon.
